kPoint requires a special plugin to be installed in your browser to allow you record your screen and create a video on kPoint. You might have already installed this screen sharing plugin from kPoint, but since January 2015, Google Chrome has changed the way it allows plugins to run. Google plans to completely remove its support to Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface (NPAPI) – the standard which was used to build the kPoint screen sharing plugin.
To overcome this problem, kPoint has created a Google Chrome extension. This extension is more secure and robust and puts less load on your browser.
This also means that you will not be affected when Google completely removes its support to NPAPI standard and will be able to continue creating new videos using screen recording.
You will need to Add this extension to browser by going to https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/kPoint and click ‘Add to Chrome’
To use screen sharing in videos , both extension and plugin will be required. Hence users who have already installed the plugin will just have to install the extension.
Please note, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox users do not need to take any action.
kPoint is committed to provide you the best possible support. For any questions or comments, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org
